Smithers Engineers has extensive experience working on historic buildings, including buildings dating back to the early 1800s. We are familiar with various materials that have been used over the years and enjoy that aspect of historic projects. Our structural engineering services with respect to historic structures include structural condition assessments, repair and strengthening of damaged components, building renovations and restorations, and conservation projects. Our clients include architects, private owners and government entities who trust us to work on their most significant buildings—including the Mississippi State Capitol.
